.005 gauge wire wheels are excellent for removing light rust and other contaminants from tools and other metal objects. While a regular .014 spoke wheel will spark and skin your fingers if you're not careful, .005 spoke wheels won't remove metal from the part you're working on. They will burnish the chrome if you are too aggressive with it. $30 isn't much, especially since it's made in the USA. Very happy with the purchase.
