remote control arrived. I followed the setup instructions with new batteries, but the link indicator did not light up when I held down the search code button as instructed. I wasted a lot of time looking for new batteries and trying the steps over and over again + wondering what I could be doing wrong. Reported defective remote to Revain and they quickly sent me a replacement. But same story. Replacing the block does not help! ? ? How could it be 2 defective remote controls in a row? Before throwing this remote around, I flipped through the reviews and found one by Butch M., "Poor tech support" where he writes about stretching the springs in the battery compartment. (Thanks, Butch M.!) Verified that the positive connections actually made contact with the case. Augments them with a letter opener. Insert batteries and you're good to go. The remote was easy to program once I was able to turn it on and matches my basic bedroom TV. REPAIR a brand new item to make it work. The remote control is definitely reasonable for the price. Once switched on, the remote was easy to program and adapted to my needs. For that I would give the product a very good rating. But due to a manufacturer issue that I had to first identify and then fix, I received a very low score.
