The Instant Pot is my favorite kitchen gadget! I have a bamboo-style silicone steamer but because of the handles I thought this one would be better. First thing I noticed was that the broccoli was steaming unevenly. Then the hard boiled eggs didn't cook properly (I repeated this with a bamboo basket to prove the basket was the problem). Increasing the time didn't fix that discrepancy (although it eventually boiled it up). It seems to me that the holes are so SMALL that they (apparently) don't let steam through to the things being steamed. Essentially, the silicone acts as an insulator on the adjacent sides of the food. Anyway, I'm returning it and getting a metal mesh basket (like a colander) with a handle because I KNOW it will work. How could Instant Pot go wrong with that?
