It's not about the wicks, you don't know how to make candles properly

First, reviews of candles full of flower petals, herbs, spices, etc. say that the wicks don't burn properly because they are inside candles , there should be no solids present. They clog the wick and prevent it from burning properly. Use these items in soap, not candles. #2- one wick = 1-2 inch wax melter diameter. If you put a wooden wick in a 3 inch candle you will end up with a 2 inch puddle of wax in the center and the sides won't melt. Candle Science 101. The size of the wicks should match the size and shape of the container. The thickness of these wicks makes them easy to double in each clip, but I prefer to place them in a triangle at anything over 3 1/2 inches. Keep them trimmed to 1/4 inch and you'll be fine. Soaking in wax will help get rid of the crackling. You should use candle wax with candle color and scented candle oil. Essential oils, perfumes, crayons, old pillar and cone shaped candles, freestanding candles, etc. burn differently and affect how and if your candle stays lit and burns properly. It amazes me that someone would take 6 leftover old candles and add 2 crayons for colour, sprinkle on dry flowers, then pour it all into a 4 inch single wick jar and then blame the wick for not burning properly! If making candles were that easy, good candles wouldn't even cost $30! There's a lot of research and trial and error involved! Don't knock the products you use if you use them wrong! If you want to make candles and don't want to find the right way, buy a set.
