It works, but the tailgate still slams with a loud "click" only at the end of the movement, not a light thump. When I removed the rear light according to the instructions, one of the dowel pins broke. Not a disaster, but a bit annoying. Not every car comes from the factory with easily removable components. Be careful and avoid the temptation to pry open or hit the taillight. Just keep pulling the knot back and moving it from side to side until it comes loose. The rest of the meeting passed without incident. Overall, this is a pretty comfortable device to get out of bed with with ease. It's not slippery and although the step is plastic it feels pretty solid. I just want the fall to be a little softer hence the one star deduction.
