Review on Tamron 17 50Mm Aspherical Pentax K Mount by Stanislaw Sipko ᠌

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Unsatisfactory quality, I will not buy this again.

A fine instrument for its purpose. The only thing I'd change is to have faster autofocus like a sigma equivalent. But the saddest part is that marriage rates are so high. The first one I purchased had not been checked for proper front-to-back focus. in retrospect, I deeply regret. I gave it to the service and they said it had a good back focus, so I know it's legit. It didn't work out when I tried to return it for a similar one. Only one of the four copies I examined in the shop was sharply focused at 50 millimeters. entire other focal length - 50mm is woefully insufficient. also excellent retrofocus at 17mm. I asked for a return in writing. One of my friends bought it in Prague and his copy is perfect, even though he didn't do any kind of testing on it before he got it. Some say that in 2022, due to changes in customs policy, lenses will be more expensive than they are today. This is because it was determined to lower lens prices by skipping the quality control procedure. What happened next is obvious. When it comes to making purchases, Europeans have no concept of what "front-back testing" entails. Autofocus is awful, earning only 2/5 stars.

Pros
  • Aperture, Construction, Good Staffer, Acceptable Bokeh, Hood Provided, Focus and Zoom Rings that are Easily Adjusted
Cons
  • Cons: - Noisy stabilizer - Slow autofocus (but still quicker than most lenses) Disgusting production quality control standards (discussed in comment)
