Several other ankle socks I've tried have failed and ended up wrinkled in my shoes. These socks NEVER do that, which is good. In addition, these socks are made of a merino wool blend. A few years ago I started to appreciate the benefits of high-quality Merino wool socks and gradually ended up wearing them almost exclusively. They absorb moisture and keep your feet practically dry. More importantly, they don't stink! And in my sneakers, which I now only wear with these socks, the shoes never stink. The only small cons are: a) They are a bit expensive. b) they are a bit harder to put on than regular socks - I have found that you have to put the front of the sock on the forefoot first and then put on the heel. If instead you try to simply pull on the heel to engage the forefoot, the toe will stretch, pulling the heel out of place. These flaws are minor and I really like these socks for running and everyday wear when I need low cut socks.
