Determined to take a chance despite negative reviews. In general I like it. It's durable and was easy to assemble. The instructions were clear and all the details were there. I only needed a helper to hang the doors which are quite heavy. Be sure to identify all parts before beginning assembly. Some of the earlier design flaws mentioned by other reviewers seem to have been fixed. Hook on the left door to keep it closed. However, access is not so easy when the device is filled with DVDs. Even with the deadbolt not latched, I have no problem keeping the door closed. The device arrived with a small scratch on one of the interior shelves, but the touch-up stick solved the problem. My biggest complaint is that the device was closed. with sawdust. I had to clean the device 4 times to get it all gone. My advice is to pick it up outside if you can, or in an open area. A vacuum cleaner or an air compressor will come in very handy. I would also assemble the unit without doors and hang it after the unit is in or near it. This makes it much easier to move around. Keep in mind that if you put another piece of furniture next to it that is deeper than the block, the doors will not open smoothly. I think the hole spacing could be better. I ended up with two small shelves underneath. If you put large DVD cases in the door, it won't close completely without a little push. Overall I think it was a good purchase.
