This product was completely useless. He died two hours after first use. So much for the claims that the company "made it in America." The product is absolutely caustic. This is Nesco's second dehydrator in the last year. The first dehydrator, the 700-watt FD 75, also died immediately. However, only two applications were necessary. I actually tried this piece of shit twice. This pathetic machine couldn't even collect a batch of jerky. At least he died during Revane's return time. The same cannot be said for the FD 75. All in all, I will never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever buy anything from Nesco again. I just can't believe these two incidents were a coincidence. I do statistical analysis; One car broke down immediately - this is one thing, and two - another. Just look at all the other people who lost useless Nesco cars. Update: I wanted to update this review and I'm raising the rankings a bit. I actually found out that this thing can get too hot. Just before I was about to send it back to Revain I felt the need to plug it in and see if it worked. Well, that's how it was. The product seems to have overheating issues; In this case it actually doesn't work anymore. I've since been able to make about six batches of beef jerky and it's turned out great. However, there is a caveat that should be discussed. As long as the machine hasn't stopped working the first time, I'll stop the dehydration process. By that I mean I turn it off after about 3 hours to rest for about twenty minutes. Also, I would never leave this car unattended for obvious reasons. All in all I'm happy with the car. It does its job and works better than my other FD 75 which died completely after a while. I will update this review if anything happens to the machine. I make beef jerky about once a month so the machine is a little broken.
