Review on 🌱 Hefty ECOSAVE Compostable Paper Plates, 10-1/8 Inch, 45 Count - An eco-friendly dining solution by Ronald Noel

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good quality, good price. More eco-friendly than plastic (but not sure how eco-friendly).

Good size plate. Good ending. They remind me of "Chinet" brand paper plates. I love that these plates are made from plant fiber and not non-renewable oil like plastic plates, but I wish the label said more about what type of plant fiber (i.e. ecologically harvested tropical forest plants, that's what matters). While the plates are advertised as compostable, the label clearly states that they can only be composted in industrial composting facilities, so should not be thrown in your home compost heap and are unlikely to decompose naturally in a landfill. The bottom line for me is that while these are high-quality disposable plates that I can safely throw away after one use (both because they don't use non-renewable plastic and because they're reasonably cheap), the eco-label looks like greenwash. me. Bottom line: buy these because they are very good paper plates, but don't put too much stock in the 'eco' label.
