Due to the fixed position of the D-ring and the heaviness of the beautiful collar buckle, the D-ring is always under the thick skin/fur of the Chow Chow's neck. Separate D-rings and charms are a plus; I lost 2 sets of dog tags due to improper leash attachment and aggressive dog tugging. If the adjustable D-ring could be placed on the dog's collar with the buckle and charm ring underneath, it would be even better to attach the leash to the always-visible D-ring.
