DO NOT BUY, DAMAGE YOUR ENGINE, METAL SHAVINGS AND CHIPS

First I tried calling K&N and customer service hung up. I received this consumption while waiting for the finished product. This is NOT a finished product. They used a grinder at the factory to cut a round piece into an oval after welding. The connector is ruined by this because there is an o-ring for the mass airflow sensor and the surface it sits on is now sharp with lots of chips and burrs (I cut myself badly unboxing). . The sealing surface remained very rough and sharp. Loose chunks of metal will no doubt be sucked into the turbo and then into the engine, destroying turbos, valves and piston noise. ON A NEW CAR WITH 15,000 MILES. Fitting pipes together is just as terrible, the direction of airflow creates turbulence and therefore negates any benefits of a CAI. I'm a welder by trade and the welding here is terrible. No penetration of base metal except what appears to be thumbtacks. I can and will now make my own recording for less than $50 vs. that overpriced junk that K&N sends out the door. FYI: K&N AEM and AirRaid are manufactured in the same facility and by the same people.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Requires outlet
