I bought this to prevent oil from getting into the engine case while changing the oil filter on my boat's outboard motor. As many of you may have noticed the position of the filter is such that once the filter was removed there was no way to prevent oil from entering the housing until I used this flexible funnel. I was easily able to shape it into a position where excess oil would drip off with each mess. I have since used it for other applications as well. This is a great tool. An indispensable thing for those who do a lot of mechanical work.
