First, I have a 2006 GMC Yukon Denali XL. After overcoming the fear of removing the two panels on the top gate, I decided to purchase an actuator. The plates came off with little effort. Note: First remove the top cover. Once the panels were removed, I simply untied the three lock cables. After that, only three screws were left to remove the mounting plate and an additional star screw to remove the actuator. The exchange turned out to be much easier than I thought. The last time this happened the dealer charged me $300! Overall, the exchange took me no more than 20 minutes. Absolutely worth buying. I then bought other Dorman parts; Steering wheel switch (901-120, -121, -122, -123) and suspension compressor (949-000). All in all, these parts have saved me about $1,000 in dealer costs.
