Review on πŸ’ͺ Black Sewing Machine: Durable, High-Quality and Versatile by Doris Tran

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Fairly small powerful machine

I have been sewing for years but not much industrial sewing. I bought this to add surf bags to our boat bimini. Heavy canvas is sewn with thick thread and heavy sewing needles. I have enough experience with machines that I was able to fix some tension issues I encountered fairly quickly. The tension setting is good. When using it to sew thinner fabrics for a blind liner, I had tension issues, as did some of the other reviewers. Although his machine works great with heavy materials, I will not use it for lighter materials. When sewing biminis I sometimes went through 7 plies of tarpaulin + external reinforcing vinyl. When crossing vertical seams, I sometimes slowed down and turned the needle by hand, but sometimes used the presser foot. It's true that this car doesn't have all the bells and whistles, but I have another car for that. I was able to go from 1 to 7+ layers without much voltage adjustment, if any. I have used Schmetz 18/110 and 16/100 needles made for home machines and have had no problems with their size. I added a hiking attachment. I am 100% sure that I could not have done this project without him. It's only for quilting, but it worked. I also have an external spool stand for UV resistant high tenacity polyester yarn Selric #69 T70,
