This is an artist's dream! It takes 2-3 days to process initially but I received mine the next day they were shipped. I think that's why the shipping is a little high. I was looking for a palette with separate areas for blending and enough colors for future growth (once I use more colors) you'll never need more space than this. The smaller indentations are approximately 1/2 inch wide and just over 1 inch wide, the larger indentations are 1/2 inch by 1/2 inch wide. Each mixing section is 4 inches wide and 9 inches long. Plus you have a lid for even more mixing space, this palette is huge. The thick plastic lid doesn't snap in place but fits well over it, I wouldn't recommend traveling on the side. 5 Stars. Love it! To update. 02/24/14 I still like it, a few things 1) I used a damp sponge to keep the tray damp, the lid doesn't snap but seems to stay wet. 2) There is no place to label your colors, for me I want to know which colors are which while using the indentations or even refilling, the only place was to stick the labels on the bottom which would be a pain , so I decided to make a watercolor color chart with all my colors and sketch where each color goes and then laminate it. This palette is HUGE. Love it, you will never need anything else again!
