I use this grommet to set grommets on leather and thin metal. I like how it comes with a short stand for working instead of the old tools' small flat anvil for that purpose. Definitely for. On the other hand, if you hit the ball too hard, the hub deforms and presses against the control shaft. If this is the case then one can only consider sacrificing this bushing because you have to pull so hard to take it apart that it falls apart and is now deformed so it cannot be reused. Grommets are cheap, but they still cause irritation. Overall, I've had very good results after learning how to hit the setup tool hard.
