Review on 6ft White Cable Matters Mini DisplayPort to DVI Cable - Thunderbolt 2 Compatible by Patrick Matin

ATTENTION! Buying a multi-monitor setup?

It works great if you only connect one monitor to it, but if you plan to use it with a multi-monitor setup with AMD EyeFinity or Nvidia equivalent, THIS WILL NOT WORK. This cable is "inactive". For compatibility with multiple Eye Finity monitors you will need an "active" cable such as B. one from Accell (and since they're short, get a 6ft DVI male-to-male extension cable). Active adapters convert DVI signal to DP and at least for my graphics card this cable was not good. It was relatively cheap so I'm not too disappointed at losing $12 and waiting for other cables, but buying this cable was a mistake considering what I need it for. I have an HD 7950 graphics card. Also, to not go any further down the rabbit hole, you can't use both mini-displayport outputs at the same time on your graphics cards if you have them (at least for AMD cards - not sure). NVIDIA). For example, on my graphics card I was able to set up a triple monitor with 1xDVI, 1xHDMI and 1xmini-DP connectors. I ended up spending another $30 before it was all said and done. But it works now! Write to me if you have similar devices and have a question.
