Just what I needed to expand my Macbook Pro desktop to dual monitors

This revolved around the perfect solution to the problem I had when buying a second monitor for my Macbook Pro. I wanted to test the look of a video I'm editing in Premiere Pro, hence the Dell HD monitor. The monitor comes with a VGA connection, but I wanted the higher resolution that you can get with HDMI or DVI. Of course, you can connect an HDMI cable to the Macbook Pro's HDMI port and then to the monitor's HDMI input, but the laptop will only display that on an external monitor. I then…

Great cable that does what it should and at a good price.

I have 4 machines connected through a KMV switch with the same led monitor, keyboard and mouse. The first 3 are workstations that use DVI-D or DVI-I and the fourth is a laptop that my office emailed me to use (Win7 and VGA only). Since my monitor (1920x1600 and I like it anyway) doesn't support DVI-I, I used a lot of adapters, but had to give up and use a separate VGA cable that goes straight from the mouse to the monitor's DB15/VGA port, while the other 3 (through a KVM switch) are connected…

ATTENTION! Buying a multi-monitor setup?

It works great if you only connect one monitor to it, but if you plan to use it with a multi-monitor setup with AMD EyeFinity or Nvidia equivalent, THIS WILL NOT WORK. This cable is "inactive". For compatibility with multiple Eye Finity monitors you will need an "active" cable such as B. one from Accell (and since they're short, get a 6ft DVI male-to-male extension cable). Active adapters convert DVI signal to DP and at least for my graphics card this cable was not good. It was relatively cheap
