I had 3/8" to 916" holes in a 3/16" piece of plate that were in the wrong place. I need to 1/8" to 3/8 them "Re-drill inches from where they were. So I had to plug the holes and then drill the dowels. In some cases only a small crescent of the plug was left. These plugs were meant to be there to stay, and they are. I made tight fitting steel plugs.Once I had a flashlight with enough heat to heat the work to enough silver it was easy to solder with this material.I tried 3 propane torches at a time and it wasn't enough.I have the largest MAP flashlight I could find and it worked well. The flux lifts the oxide and deposits and the filler goes straight into the joint. Note that the filler flows in the direction of heat. I heated it from below and added one Add spatula from above. Considering I never used these things before they worked really well. I used a lot of putty. I made a connection and covered both sides of the board about an inch. This was because I have a hard time seeing the filler after it's liquid, but too much is better than too little.
