They differ from the ones that were installed when I built my house. I was initially put off by the rubber foot that attaches to the door itself, as they are relatively unsightly compared to almost all the metal stoppers I have by now. Not ugly, mind you, but this leg is more noticeable than my current curved metal endstops (compared to a plastic leg like this). But the complaints stop and will be corrected here. Our hallway closet door is used a lot by kids hanging backpacks (which hang on door hangers), coats and shoes - and that poor door keeps hitting the stopper. One day the old cork broke and when I removed it I noticed how much damage it was slowly doing to the door. So I ordered it, sanded the spot, applied wood filler and it looked like new before installing. New. A few months later, that leg completely saved the door from damage due to continued child abuse. So anyone who has to protect a door that often goes beyond its limits will be happy with these little fellows.
