Works and easy to set up. I use it to improve the WiFi connection in the upstairs bedroom. Before installing the extender, I measured the signal strength of my 5 GHz band at a very poor level using an app on my Android phone ("WiFi Analyzer"). -75 dBm I could barely surf the web in this room, and my Wi-Fi connected TV couldn't play YouTube videos without dropping in quality and long buffering pauses. After installing the extension cable, the signal level is -40 dBm, which corresponds to the meter readings. . Now the internet loads fast and I can watch TV in this room again. Setup was easy. Although I was told to place the extender halfway between the main router and the dead center, I place it next to the TV in my room and it works fine. . This password is only for managing the extender (change settings, etc.). It is different from the network password you use to access the internet to surf the web. It is configured to use an insecure default password ("admin"). The instructions don't mention a password, nor do they encourage you to change it to something only you know what to do. To change your password, install the TP-Link Tether app on your Android or iOS device. There you can change your password.
