If you prefer the ATC feel, don't like the GriGri belay method and want a self-locking belay device, this is a fantastic alternative. It even has some design advantages over the GriGri. It is all metal and lighter than any version of the GriGri. This is more of a personal opinion, but it's easier for me to fill the gap. The belay technique used on this device also keeps your hands off the device itself, so you don't have to worry about the belayer dying by grabbing the device out of fear and missing the entire rope. Depending on what rope you use there is some variation in how easily you can sag and how quickly it gets caught, but I haven't used good rope between 8.9 and 11mm which I feel is unsafe to use with that is. In my experience, the more flexible the rope, the easier it is to sag.
