I ended up using 2000 feet of this wire. I needed a strong wire that could transmit a strong signal to dog collars. This wire will do. I had a little trouble inserting and holding the cable into the transmitter. The wire goes in the slot but slips out. Finally everything worked and everything has been fine for a few days. If needed I can file the wires or just rough them up to hold the "latch" in place in the transmitter. I placed three orders and paid a different price for each foot - my fault. 14 gauge wire is much more expensive than the 18-20 gauge wire that comes bundled and sold in most stores, but it breaks so easily and some just seem to go bad. This wire will save me the frustration of looking for a break in the clock. This wire is thick enough to be strong and the insulation is thick too. Happy with my setup and looking forward to the silence of the fence alarm on a cold rainy day.
