I've only ridden a Segway branded hoverboard before, and this feels mostly the same. They are tricky to get used to, because operating one of these runs counter to your instincts. You HAVE to trust that it will work, in order to ride it successfully. When you lean forward, the hoverboard is meant to roll forward "catching" you. If you don't trust it, you'll just end up wobbling everywhere as you try to right your balance. The motors are quite powerful, but they do not deal with rough terrain well at all. I found myself snagging on all sorts of bumps and rocks when I was practicing in a parking lot, which stops or significantly slows one side. This is largely due to how stiff the wheels are. I highly recommend wearing a helmet and maybe even wrist protectors.Mine was delivered pretty far off calibration - the two sides weren't aligned. Calibration was quick and easy, just hold down the power button with the two sides lined up correctly. The light's are decently bright, but I would never ride this thing at night. It's too much of a novelty to truly trust as a mode of transport outdoors, unless your area is particularly smooth on the sidewalks and paths. The included charger has a 48 inch long cord. Made in China.
