PLEASE SOAK AND WASH THE STONES BEFORE USE! I bought these stones for the 'water garden' which is full of my favorite forms of Anubias so I'm VERY glad I read the reviews before doing anything. ! I read some reviews that said they used paint on it and a few reviews that said they rinsed the stones in hot water a few times and it was fine. a bowl of water. I'm very glad I did because the next morning the water was BLACK! Looks like I mixed charcoal powder in it! I started by rinsing the stones handfuls at a time in a small colander before soaking them AGAIN overnight. I soaked and washed the stones until the water ran clear after soaking overnight. Now I have them in my water garden with no problems but if I used them straight from the bag or after a few flushes it would kill my plants. ! They are beautiful after all the cleaning, but PLEASE rinse and soak when you get them!
