Since 2004 I have been using solar panels for battery maintenance when there is no power source other than a generator, solar panel or portable power source. I use it in my dock for deep cycle battery maintenance on pontoon boat motors. I don't use it to charge it after the battery drops to 80%, I just leave it running after charging it with portable power. That works great. I can only use my pontoon boat once a month when the company comes and it annoys me that the battery is weak or dead just before use. It's so easy because I didn't have to connect a solar controller. Note: The green full charge indicator did not light up until I balanced the cells with the 1.1 amp charger. (LST 12V Battery trickle charger maintenance) I will be ordering another Sunapex for my Jon boat. I have not used suction or tech support. I screwed the panel to the dock facing south. Great little panel.
