Redesign required

Received and assembled this stand from Crosley today. It was immediately noticeable that the table was very wobbly. The legs do not fit flush with any of the shelves. When the leg is screwed on, there will be a gap between the leg and the shelf. The legs also diverge in different directions. The color matched our turntable perfectly, but when we placed the unit on it we noticed that the depth was about an inch less. We felt it was too risky to use as is. We knew that the first time one of our cats jumped up or one of us hit the table, everything would collapse. We also found it too big for our needs so we didn't use the lower legs at all. My husband used some screws and washers and connected the top leg insert to the bottom shelf. Then we placed four self-adhesive pads under the bottom shelf to use as legs. He also added some washers to the screws on the wire album holders to keep the screws from cutting into the wood. If we needed a higher stand we would return this as it is too wobbly to put our turntable on. I think if Crosley had made a few changes to the design, such as B. Allowing the legs to move straight up and down instead of at an angle, the table could have been a bit more stable. Shortening the lower legs would also increase stability.
