Review on Bushnell Engage Hunting Laser Rangefinder_LE1300SBL by Bomba Ton

Great optics and rangefinder, but a few flaws

You'll likely find the Bushnell PRIME LP1300SBL 1300 laser rangefinder to be an older model. I didn't find any big differences. The optics look exactly as my eyes claim: very bright and very sharp. The LCD information screen is typical: legible and easy to read in most situations, but a little hard to see in shaded areas, but serviceable. Accuracy is significantly better than my 4 year old Leupold TBR laser range finder (expensive) but that can be a downside. the best technology. This rangefinder gives you consistently accurate readings in ARC (Angular Range Compensation) mode, displayed on the LCD screen just below line of sight distance, up to 40 meters that I tested (I know the angular distance from the stands and the line of sight distance I've also checked them on measured targets at 15 yards, 25 yards, 30 yards, 40 yards, 220 yards, and 470 yards (assessed by multiple devices and different people) and have never been wrong on the exact distance as long as the settings "bulls eye" or "brush" were correct - very good job here. I assume this would work great on their "claimed" 600 yard stag (see image diagram) It's all black , but matte except for the two front lenses - I've added camo on the front It's smaller than other rangefinders I've used but feels comfortable in my hand - good job t with this. oh enjoy However, the setup is problematic. D is with "instructions". The only helpful instructions were the cable attachment instructions and the FTC statement. There was no instruction manual included. On two pages of paper there was only this information in several languages. The little "custom" card was basically an advertisement for the features. This must be a sick joke. . I found a Bushnell manual online for an older model (Bushnell Prime LP1300SBL) and was able to gather enough information to set up the menu. This Bushnell PDF manual is confusing; badly organized; and had pictures/captions on bad terms. They really need the technical writer to rethink their manuals and put more emphasis on "consistency and clarity". . . . The 2 BASIC settings you need to adjust are marked with red and green boxes in my picture. Setting these up the way you want them will set you up for most bow and rifle hunts. - Hunting situations: Angular range compensation modes: • Bow mode • Rifle mode. Aiming modes: • BullsEye mode • Brush mode. All in all it was a good buy. I've looked at every rangefinder under $200 (including the Vortex Optics Impact 850 - and I really like the Vortex optics) and I think I made the right choice. The optics and technology are there in this new Bushnell range finder, but the user-friendly manual is sorely lacking. . . It will be a pleasure to use in the field. ______________ If you want to use their values from the ballistic table, the list of calibers is minimal: a list of common caliber and Bushnell load combinations: Federal.224 dia. 22-250 pieces, 55 gr.
