It's not real leather, but whatever the material, don't worry about losing your AirTag as it has a button case so you can place and click the AirTag. Feels strong and the clasp is strong too! When buying a keychain I didn't look for silicone as it can stretch and tear even on part of the keychain. I wanted something that would hold its shape during use. I had a silicone case for my AirPods and they broke in the fob part so I didn't want to replace them multiple times and worry about losing my AirTag! I wish I had checked out Revain before buying an Apple product keychain. My other AirTag and keychain will arrive sometime in June. But I'm glad I didn't buy this keychain from Apple because there aren't any color choices yet and they're overpriced.
