Review on ๐ŸŽง Sony WH-1000XM4 Noise-Canceling Wireless Headphones with Alexa & Mic, Blue by Ghazanfar Ali แ Œ

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I did not regret the purchase, everything is fine.

In my review below I will describe my opinion about the product Sony WH 1000XM4 Canceling Headphones Phone Call. I took it only for the sake of maximum noise reduction when traveling on the subway and talking at work. The rest of the MX4 doesnโ€™t really differ much from my old Sony MDR770BN (with noise cancellation, but the MX4 is better in the subway), which cost $100 at the time of purchase.

Pros
  • 1. Noise suppression well cuts off the noise in the subway, now it's much more pleasant to ride. 2. Simultaneous work with the phone (talking on the phone) and the computer. 3. At work I use the "focus on voice" function. 4. They charge quickly, as they discharge. 5. Fold up.
Cons
  • 1. No support for Alice + Mihome. 2. Discharges noticeably faster if you use noise reduction, an equalizer and DSEE - you have to charge 2-3 times a week. My previous Sony MDR770BN headphones, which have a function of poor, but still noise reduction and 2 times less than the declared duration of operation, had to be charged once a week, taking into account battery degradation for 6 years and outdoors in winter at -10 degrees. 3. There is no tangible improvement in the sound quality compared to the old (I have been using since 2022) MDR770BN headphones, taking into account if you listen to music at 320k quality. Compared on the phone (SM note10 +) when connecting two devices at the same time (the phone allows simultaneous output to 2 devices) and listened to my favorite songs in turn. 4. Sensor. Analog volume rockers are of course much more convenient than gestures, both in headphones and in modern multimedia in cars. Changing the volume in the MX4 is not internal, but changing the BT volume on the phone, you wonโ€™t be able to quickly change the volume level - either take out the phone or smooth the earpiece for a few seconds. I measured from 0 to 100% these are 30 gestures, if you perform them very quickly, then after a time a false positive is like a double tap "stop / pause". 5. Adaptive noise reduction for a week of use for my scenarios (home-walk to metro-work) turned out to be even a minus - turned it off, it works too crookedly, itโ€™s more comfortable to turn on complete silence and not be distracted by people and voice advertising on the street. 6. Of course, I knew about the poor sound quality during a conversation, but I was surprised how much better my (SM note10+) and probably any relatively modern phone is in this regard. This is especially felt on a windy street or next to a fan / air conditioner or in a DC with a bunch of roaring and blowing coolers. On the phone with their several noise-canceling microphones, these sounds are eliminated and the interlocutor has the feeling that you are in a quiet room, and with headphones, the interlocutor will certainly hear and understand you, but all the noise will also add "comfort" to the conversation.
