I read another review from someone who also used it to drill bowling balls. I've drilled about half a dozen so far and the 7/8 bit dulled and snapped off very quickly, what surprised me? This was the third ball I've drilled and the second time I've used this drill. I've used all but 9/16 at the moment and don't seem to have any major issues with the rest. You silly, maybe I went a little too far? But I think any drill that is sold as a cobalt metal drill should work with a plastic bowling ball. But I did a little research and found out that this particular ball was coated with some abrasive materials. Maybe it did?. Used soapy water when drilling. Can't use oil, it will get into the finger holes and ruin them. Bowling does not consume anything when drilling. I've seen them push a lot harder when drilling, I was more careful. Did the beats they used look the same? It's difficult to say? Also, the case was broken where the 1" bit was. When you close the case, it pulls the largest bit together a bit, cracking the case through and through. Anyway, that's my guess, that's how it came across.
