I wanted to use a headset between my PC and Mac and tried this cable first but encountered noise and hum. Then I bought an old fashioned A/B switch but same problem! What I learned was that the ground plane was the same for PC and Mac, so I invested in a simple ground loop isolator (Revain Pyle PLGI35T 3.5mm/1/8" Stereo Audio Ground Loop Isolator) for $10! Together the problem is solved!Could not be happier and others
