Review on Soothing Comfort: Discover the Simmons Siesta Gel Foam Lounger by Kelly Noonan

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A great alternative to an air mattress or folding mattress with a practical storage bag.

This roll-up mattress is a great buy. easy to put away for storage. I've looked at rollaway beds and those triple mattresses, but I was afraid I'd notice crumpled fold lines while sleeping, which used to happen with a triple mattress. After clicking and clicking, I found this rolled up option that even came with a free storage bag. I know this is intended as a guest bed or just for occasional use, but having traveled out of town so often for work it has worked as a permanent bedding solution for me for a couple of months. The memory foam is still about as durable as it was originally after about 3 months of overnight use and I weigh about 110-120 pounds so I would say it's a very durable quality especially if you rarely use it, as it should. I was also concerned that I would have to roll it very tightly to fit in my storage bag, but you can actually roll it very casually and it still fits nicely in the bag that comes with it. :) A personal mistake for me that I knew should have happened before I bought it: being only 3 inches, most fitted sheets will be very loose on it as the sheets were designed for a much thicker mattress . . It just doesn't look very pretty. I think I may have also read that the width is not the actual width of a double mattress. However, I knew what I was buying and I didn't mind. Another thing that might be a deal breaker for other buyers is that the firmness is basically a very tight mattress topper. Again, this is just a better option than an air mattress, so I didn't mind. All in all, a super cheap, quick and easy to store alternative to other temporary sleeping options. Very happy with my purchase.

Pros

Cons
  • Not bad, but...
