Don't buy it for meat
This thermometer is cheap junk. Avoid the headache and buy another thermometer. It worked for a few months but was never "instant" as advertised. I always kept it in a case, never dropped it or got it wet (I just washed the probe manually), and now the display only shows -46.0C and not a single button works, including on/ Out of. So I removed the battery, didn't help. Bought a new battery, didn't help. goes in the garbage.
