It was delivered in the original packaging, two parts (top and bottom) protected by a lot of foam. Assembly was very easy, insert the screw and tighten with the small wrench provided. The tabletop is very smooth/slippery and anything that doesn't have rubber feet will slide off. It has 4 glued rubber/felt dots on the base to protect your desk but I think the quality of these dots is not up to par, I would look for a mat to put on the table underneath. Table top and base appear very solid. I know others have said it's hard to get it down with something on it and I agree. Something like a glass mug could slip off. This can definitely be improved by the supplier with hydraulics to safely lower the table.
