This review is for typists, not gamers. I wish I had the brains to set up and deck out my own superduper mechanical keyboard like all those R/mechanical keyboard braggarts, but I'm not that type of guy. However, as a writer and student, I spend at least five hours a day typing. A few years ago, someone mentioned to me that getting rid of the membrane keyboard would reduce fatigue and slow me down, thus reducing errors. I've tried and I've certainly never regretted it. My first was Corsair with MX Reds and I quickly switched to Browns in search of the sensation. Bought a Taurus in the Blues. I've used Drop CTRL (then Massdrop) and honestly don't feel enough of an apparent difference in quality between the two to justify the dramatic price increase. Sure, the aluminum is nice and the effects are cool, but if like me you just need something that makes typing a pleasure, look no further. I have three small flaws. First, I wish the Taurus had the same shifting options as Hades. I would prefer Gateron MX if possible. Second, the white color of my keyboard is much whiter than it looks in the picture. I was expecting a light bone color but this one is lighter, whiter. This takes away some of the retro vibe, but not drastically. Everyone who sees it thinks it's a 30-year-old keyboard (in a good way). Finally, the subframe lifters are nice (two heights to choose from), but they fold forward rather than to the sides. Therefore, if you pull them out and push the keyboard forward, they snap back into place. Not a big deal, but a bit annoying if you move your keyboard around as much as I do. That's the main reason I didn't give five stars. As others have said, if you're obsessed with the plastic case, don't worry. This thing is nice and heavy, durable and has excellent clean lines. And honestly, if you've never used a metal-cased board before, consider how consistently cold it is compared to not-so-cold buttons. This confuses me and that's why I got my CTRL back. First off, the Taurus is one of the best machines I've ever printed on and for the money you can't beat it.
