When I received this drive I ignored the instructions page that came with it and just popped it into my 2009 MBP. It was recognized immediately and in about half an hour my first Blu-ray extraction was complete. My main goal for this disc is to extract my Blu-ray movies so I can put them on my AppleTV 2. Works great! You will need third-party software, so be aware that this drive only comes with a disc, cables, and media. Personally, I've used a combination of DVDFab and MakeMKV along with Handbrake. Great results and I love the fact that I can flip through the AppleTV to watch on demand. The drive itself is in a white casing and is damn small. It comes with 2 cables, a USB cable with a standard A connector and a standard B connector and another USB cable with a standard A connector and a power connector that plugs into the back of the drive . I have a 24 inch ACD that I connected to the display with only the first wire and didn't need the second wire at all. I've read that some people need both cables to power the drive, but I didn't need the second cable. 2. It's small, inexpensive and most importantly, IT WORKS EDIT 9/15/12 Well, my drive has stopped working. I am very grateful that I managed to return in time when it happened. It worked great for the first few weeks and then it's dead. After checking the reviews I see I'm not the only one with this issue. BUO! Nice ride if you can keep it going!
