This sharpener offers excellent value for money. I don't think a single grinder is perfect for art pens, but it's fantastic for writing pens. The mounting suction cup is quite durable for desktop use. It will certainly stick to a smooth, non-porous wall surface, but it won't stick indefinitely. For this application the supplied rigid bracket and screws are a must as falling off a wall onto a very hard surface can damage the waste catcher. ***I came back to maybe buy another one for home use as this one was for work. Reading some of the reviews makes me pay for the view. 1. Nothing here is so complicated that a guide is needed. 2. If you rotate the pencil a little while sharpening, the wood will be removed evenly. 3. The suction cup will not stick to rough, cracked or porous surfaces. Physics has rules. Do not follow them at your own risk. 4. The suction lever is difficult to lift. A. Do not push it fully into the mounting surface. Leave a few millimeters to get underneath OR B. Using the eraser end of a pencil, start at the pivot point and slide down to the rubber cap end of the lever. And voila! Driving wedge principle! Physics is back on top! 5. It's $8. It's not classified as a main battle tank, don't expect it to fire the same shots. Try some finesse, Kong!
