I was apprehensive about using this carrier as I have never used it and there were some bad reviews but I am so glad I bought it! This proved to be a lifesaver. It's incredibly durable, so much so that I had a hard time taking it out of the box. The material is thick and a little hard when you first use it. The backpack is not heavy at all but it took some effort to pack as the material is hard. I was able to load and unload the car roof rack alone using a ladder. The straps and mounts were solid and the instructions were easy to follow. I double knotted the straps and tested them when I stopped to fill up, no problems with loosening or slipping. The first trip I took with the carrier was 600 miles in sunny, slightly windy weather. The carrier didn't have much of an impact on my speed or gas mileage. The second ride, 300 miles, was in pouring rain. No leaks, everything was perfectly dry! This carrier was a great purchase, I'm so glad I got it! This made my move less stressful.
