I received my first carburetor with a broken part, sent it back and asked for a new one, thinking it was just an accident. Then I got a second one with the same broken part but it wasn't that bad so I decided to just take care of it. As for the installation on my 03 400EX, it was basically plug and pay except for the fuel line. The fuel inlet on this carburetor is larger and will require some modification to allow the line to fit the tank inlet and this carburetor port without twisting the line and maintaining smooth gas flow.
