This instant read thermometer is accurate and seems to give a stable reading for three or four seconds. I tested its accuracy in ice water, which showed exactly 32.0 F when held on ice in a glass of ice water from the freezer. I also tested it in boiling water: 210.8F, which is pretty accurate, although it depends on your altitude. The display is easy to read thanks to the bright LCD panel that changes orientation depending on which hand you're holding it in. The hinge mechanism runs smoothly and feels solid, and the thermometer appears to be moderately to fully waterproof as claimed. Holes and magnets for hanging or sticking to stove or fridge are nice features. The sizing details seem a little vague, but unnecessary as mine didn't require sizing. The battery compartment can be easily opened and closed with a coin. It comes with a CR2032H battery which is a slightly longer lasting version of the standard 3V CR2032 cell. Overall, this looks like a well-designed and well-made thermometer that I'm happy to have in my kitchen.
