Review on Cygolite Dash Resistant Rechargeable Headlight by Paul Rogger

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The best helmet lamp I've ever had!

I didn't expect it to be so bright! That's great! I have 2 other lights on the front of my bike (500 lumens each) and just wanted to add some 'extra' to my helmet to see around corners at intersections. I had a "Knog Blinder Arc 1.7" but the problem was that it was too heavy in the front meaning I had the pleasure of an audible "knock" on the top every time I stopped to hear my helmet. After that everything was back to normal but it just got annoying so I ordered it and to say the least I'm VERY satisfied! The light's low profile helps keep it in place when I need to stop quickly, and the daytime running/flashing function of the 4 individual LEDs helps others see me and not think I'm part of the background! As I drove, I realized that a blinking (and bright) light grabs my attention MUCH faster than a solid light (however bright it is!). Then when I add the main light it gets so bright that I want to make sure I'm not aiming for the driver's eyes! You can even make it flash in 4 of its 7.count 'em.7 modes! In 3 of these 4 flash modes, the main light flashes along with the top 4 lights! The remaining 3 modes are low, medium and high. I made the mistake of looking at it directly when I first turned it on; I won't do this anymore! Just a warning, since the ceiling lights are so small, their light seems MUCH more concentrated and bright. All in all a great light and had it come before I got those other two lights well you know where that would lead.
