A few other reviewers complained of these plates breaking, but we've had zero issues with them even when we used them for a Christmas Eve dinner with a variety of heavy/dense foods. The sizes are a nice combination for dinner + dessert (or salad) and the look is dressy enough to use for nice events. My mom wanted to save them and run them through the dishwasher to keep using them and I wasn't that enthusiastic (why use plastic plates if you have to wash them anyway?!) but they're thick enough that I bet they'd do fine in the dishwasher too.
