Cannot be attached without super glue to keep it straight. There is no guarantee that it will match the barrel when tightened. I have tried removing and replacing this scope several times, but there is no way to properly align the scope with the barrel. The best I could do was tighten it to the very last turn of the screw and then back it out until it was exactly in line with the barrel. Then I took the super glue and stuck it between the scope and the barrel and held it until the glue dried. I bought both a red and a green scope. The red scope is MUCH better than the green in low light! (at least for me)
