P7. License fees for radar detectors.

I live in New Jersey and it's famous for its tankers to fill up your gas (why why? New Jersey) and one of the highest per capita rates in the state. Having moved from the great old state of Texas, where in all my 8 years I have hardly seen any state soldiers and they all drive at least 80 miles an hour, you can imagine the transition to driving in New Jersey was a bit difficult for me. Horns (you'll probably get shot in Texas).,. Angry and frustrated, my responses tended to speed up. Except that the back gate twice had cops in unmarked cars (to be honest I now think they use that as a strategy). I've racked up enough points and fines in three short months to keep the New Jersey State Troopers' pension high for years to come. Enter the radar detector. First the Uniden R3 and then the R7 which is larger and has a useful feature to tell you the direction of the signal (front, back, side). I'm not that stubborn because I always slow down when my ka-band fails. So when it comes to saving money, the R3 works just as well as the R7. The volume and frequency of alerts are also higher on the R7, and I quickly learned to work in both silent and stealth modes, customizing the settings to only alert when there was a real threat or me drive over 35 miles per hour. The R7 has a learning mode for repeating frequencies in the same places. However, since I installed mine in stealth mode, I'm not sure how well this feature actually works. In front of or just behind both devices they work fine with over mile warning. sideways. Warning distances are 500-800 feet lower when the LE is parked sideways on the freeway, but you still have plenty of time to slow down before you actually know where they are. Bought Unidentity. R3 is almost a year old and R7 is about 6 mins. My wife jokingly calls her my security blanket. Good buy both. R3 if you are on a budget and R7 if you want to go bigger and better.
