Works very well except for one small bug.

Works as expected except for one. I was using a Samsung Galaxy Note 20 5G with Samsung's wireless fast charger, which draws very little power when idle. Sometimes when I take my phone out of the cradle and turn it back on, it doesn't charge quickly until I unplug the cable or turn off the charger. With fast charging, the charger negotiates with the device and switches from the standard 5 volts to a higher voltage. My guess is that the charger needs to see the current drop to zero to reset and renegotiate, and the charging station doesn't drop the current immediately after the phone is taken out, especially if it's quickly removed and replaced. That doesn't happen with the Samsung charger. I used a USB power analyzer to monitor voltage and current on the USB side and a 12V voltage and current monitor on the 12V side. I found that the 12 volt side reads 12 .9 when charging my phone at 9 volts and about 1 amp volt at 0.83 amps indicating the device is 90% efficient. It's pretty good, but I still think having to check if it's fast charging or not is a bit of a hassle. However, I'm pretty sure this issue only occurs when using a wireless charger. This device seems to be still in development. Also, I use magnetic USB cables for wireless charging and just discovered that the fast charge feature doesn't work with either this charger or the original Samsung charger as my cables are only two wires for power and not the full four wires for data . This is a limitation of the QC 3.0 standard, not this charger, as the charger appears to need to communicate with the phone via data cables to negotiate charging speeds. Just one question. Although the charger works with wireless charging cradles, I'm impressed with the style and quality of the design. It doesn't look cheap, nor does it feel like a poorly designed device, bar one flaw I found. While it can fast charge my 5G phone, it depends on what the phone is doing and how much power it's using. I tested it while the phone was acting as a Wi-Fi hotspot for a computer downloading gigabytes of Windows updates. This prevents my phone from charging with a regular charger. The phone slowly drains while charging. But on this charger it charged pretty quickly. I would imagine that if my phone was completely dead and I charged it with this charger when it was off, it would be fully charged in an hour. My favorite feature is the detachable cable. I use Anderson Powerpole connectors for my 12v system, but wanted to keep the 12v cigarette lighter connection cable intact for in-car use. So I bought a DC coax connector to match the charger and made my own cable for my system. This feature allows the charger to be more permanently "mounted" in a home or boat if required. The cigarette lighter plug can fall out or become detached, so it's not ideal for a permanent connection. There's a power indicator, but it's not bright enough to be a distraction at night. It's a tiny blue light. I think it would be nice to have a tri-color LED on each port to indicate normal or fast charging, but that's just wishful thinking. So I would say it's worth the money.

Pros
  • ☸ Safe Charging: The car charger adapter is CE/FCC/ROHS certified and has a built-in protection system to protect your device from over-voltage, over-charge, over-heat, short-circuit, etc.
Cons
  • Slightly torn
