These bags are ideal for storing freshly roasted coffee. I have a Weston vacuum machine so there is more than enough heat sealer on it to seal these bags. As others have pointed out, these packages must be sealed. There is enough space above the zipper to close them. They are easy to open and hold 8 ounces or slightly more of coffee. I wish they had a window but it is very small. I tried a brand that was cheaper and didn't require heat sealing. It also had a window to view the content. I couldn't roast 7 ounces of coffee to crack. It was also a bit difficult to open it all the way down. It's not a problem at all.
