This is the second one I've bought, the first one being almost a year old and still going strong. Originally bought it for an outdoor cat but they refused the cat house with it inside so we set it on a perch and the inside cats will take turns laying on it and enjoying the warmth.I have been really pleased with the durability and ease of cleaning the cover as one of our cats is "prone to mark" his favorite things. We can take the cover off and wash it easily. Also the amount of heat is just enough. I don't worry much about what it is resting on getting too hot and when no one is using it it is not heating. A great feature.Why a second one? The outdoor cat came in during a big storm and not the pad is her favorite spot and won't share so we had to get it to keep the peace.
