I'm an artist, so I'm used to using different types of paint, but I've never painted on rocks. When I was looking for the right tool, I came across these acrylic pens, was very enthusiastic and very disappointed. What's the point of buying paint specifically for coloring stones and finding that it doesn't work as well as you'd hoped. First I washed and lightly sanded the stones, applied paint etc. Results, You can't apply color over the gray (which isn't gray but silver). because if you wipe it with water, other paint colors will come off. The thin tip of the markers had trouble lifting the paint and it dried very quickly. What a disappointment, I needed a thin tip for small details like eyes, beaks, feathers etc (drawing owls and snowmen). I end up using my acrylic paints that I use for frescoes. Well, I confess I use a thin black marker to make the eyes. What a waste of money, they end up in the trash. Sorry but it's true.
